ID of Loch Eriboll Surrendered Type VII U-boat ?

I’m trying to identify the U-boat in Library and Archives Canada Photo, MIKAN No. 3526112, which Showa a type VII boat with a crest on the front of the conning tower with the number “73.” The photo caption identifies the men on the deck as belonging to a boarding party from the HMCS Matane (K 444) and location is given as Loch Eriboll, Scotland, May 1945.

Can someone ID the U-boat based on this information?
