<HTML>C-Span Cable TV presented last night and tonight 8 hours of very interesting video and personel information about modern day submarines and their crews. The 20,000+ ton 560 foot long Trident class \"Wyoming\" US-BOOT (capable of destroying most of the world) has a kitchen, food storage rooms and separate officer and enlisted mens dining rooms that would probably dwarf an old Uboot. They carry 80 tons of food for the 15 officers and 145 men (15 chief petty officers). The Commander\'s stateroom is about 8 square meters. You can view much of this presentation at \"[www.c-span.org]\". Unbelievable! Some of the former Ubooter should see this. The sub has three decks - top, middle and bottom.
Only costs 2-3 billion dollars each including 24 Trident multi-warhead nuke missiles. A US billion is $ 1.000.000.000,00 or a milliarde in German. There were interesting cut-away models shown - the pressure hull looks like a medicine capsule - a tube with the round spherical ends a fairly good distance from bow or stern; the rounded bow filled with sophisticated sonars.</HTML>
