"Y1: Silence of the Deep" Documentary

Team Faos Productions is pleased to announce that it will soon launch one of the biggest-ever crowdfunding campaigns for a Greek film, aiming at completing its much-anticipated documentary “Y1: Silence of the Deep”.
The documentary follows the story of legendary Greek WWII submarine “Y1-Labros Katsonis”, with the aid of the heroic crew’s descendants, including journalist Bilio Tsoukala, daughter of Elias Tsoukalas, who was the XO of “Y1” and author of the book “Submarine Y1 Labros Katsonis”.
The film also documents the agonizing efforts to locate, identify and film the submarine wreck, in an operation that had no precedent in Greece and was organized with the valuable aid of the Greek Navy.
Today, two years after production commenced, Team Faos has managed to complete 90% of the filming, with a large investment from own assets. The team will soon invite the public to contribute to a crowdfunding campaign on popular platform Indiegogo, in order to raise the minimum amount that is necessary for post-production (editing, sound mixing, 3D animation, original soundtrack).
We are convinced that the inspiring story of submarine “Y1-Katsonis” can and must become a great documentary. Even the smallest amount can play an important role for the production team.
