Das Boot question

<HTML>Hello everyone,

I finally saw Das Boot (a little late....i know!) and it is excellent. Definately one of the best movies I have ever seen. But one thing is bothering me and I would like it cleared up.

The boat was ordered to La Spezia which I\'m guessing is in Italy. It then goes to the bottom when they try to bust throught the defences at Gibraltar. Then when they surface, the captain orders a course change, 3 degrees to starboard, and that takes them on a course of 320 degrees. Where the hell are they going? That doesn\'t take them into the Med. or to Italy. So, what port are they at when they arrive?
