<HTML>The director of this movie has clearly stated that he had studied the actual historical events that lead to the capture of the first Enigma machine. He went on to state that the U-Boot Waffe contained the most fanatical Nazis of the entire German Kriegsmarine.

He does not only lie in the movie, he also lies outside of it.

No breaks, no mercy.

U-571 is one of the worst movies ever made, a historical perversion and as far as those famed special effects go: they\'re laughable. A U-boat that\'s hit by a torpedo goes sky-high as if it\'s filled from top to bottom with high-octone fuel, topped of with some nitro.

As for those \'historians\' defending the historical accuracy of this sad flick: they aren\'t real historians. Real historians would NEVER sell out or put their rep at stake in such a stupid way. Another Hollywood fake.</HTML>
