This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

<HTML>From the Yahoo Movie previews:
[movies.yahoo.com]
"Premise: When a group of American P.O.W.s (Prisoners of War), the survivors of the wrecked U.S.S. Swordfish, are brought aboard German U-Boat 429 during World War II, their loyalties are tested as they are forced to either join the Germans or fight each other for their lives."
Not real history, but an interesting idea.
A member of the production company posted on U-boat.net awhile ago asking for some technical advice (or advisors) on U-boat operations (how do you operate this lever, what gage would this guy look at, etc) - he was looking for help mid-filming. We tried to help him out, but I don't know if we could answer the specific questions he was looking for.
He seemed to be very interested in making a good action thriller (not a historically exact movie) with a realistic and sympathetic depiction of the Germans. Don't think this will be a 'U-571' at all. I'm given it the benefit of a doubt till I see it in the theaters.
