Everyone realizes that authenticity will always stand as the foremost characteristic in determining the overall quality of military movies. For examples, consider: Stalingrad, Das Boot, Private Ryan. Although these movies all had quality acting, it was the authenticity of the production and plots that brought these movies into the classic category in which they are now. As to the new Uboat movie, its plot is a completely unrealistic fantasy... no way would a uboat ever transport POWs. That fact alone diminishes and discredits the entire production. Contrary to other commenters, I don't need to even see this movie to make the judgement that it will not measure up to those listed above.
