When I was a kid back in 1937, a saw a B&W movie titled
"SUBMARINE D-1" starring Pat O'brien, George Brent and Wayne Morris. I thought that was the most exciting flick that I had ever seen.
It didn't have all the hoopla, TV or Radio coverage that we see today,
but it was perhaps the best sub movie that Hollywood made at the time.

I still hold a video copy of it, and just like to watch it once in a while,
'cause it shows the Sub Base at N'Lon, CT the way it was then, before the Submarine Escape Training Tower was torn down.

I agree with what you wrote, and agree that a "documentary" like
"THE SECRET LAND" by MGM would be more interesting, knowing that it was "real history."
