As I remember, you were the first who asked, and we then joked about the alcoholic content of the dish in question. Anyway, it was so shown in the film by Petersen, the only actual dishes mentioned in the novel are sausages, herring, Eisbein and soup.
Things haven't been going so well lately, as you can read from the above missive: my mum's elder sister has died recently and I'm running around trying to sort out things.
I hope that in the meantime you have had a pleasant year and are looking forward to an even better one.
