The conning tower lights were "rigged-for-red" whenever the upper conning tower hatch was open. I don't believe there were any blue lights in the conning tower, but I may be mistaken. I must repeat: "Blue lights were used in the berthing compartments", both on surface ships and submersibles of the U.S. Navy.
