I even consider the lack of being able to get sent out there, spent all the 'eels', then (deo volente) get back, get some R&R and get sent back out there for some more, which was really the usual m.o. for the U-Boot war, a game-breaking flaw.
Sure, I played some SHII, but it just doesn't have the real feel (insofar that can be experienced by a mere gamer of course) for me.
Up to this day, I prefer Command: Aces of the Deep.
Also because my German crewmates speak German to me in that one, not some lame attempt at 'Allo 'allo style germanized English...
