<HTML>Hello all:
Before the heavy Hollywood "magic" appeared on our TV screens, the
1937 production of "SUBMARINE D-1" was released starring Pat O'Brien as COB, Wayne Morris as a cocky first class torpedoman, and George Brent as its CO. Main theme is submarine rescue using the
McGann rescue chamber. Remember that this was filmed in 1937, two
years before the loss of USS SQUALUS (SS-192) in 1939.
It's on the "rare submarine movie list" and pretty hard to come by today.
Regards,
ROBERT M.</HTML>
