Dear Jan,

No need to apologize! It's quite a treat to me to log onto a forum and find someone saying nice things about me. eye rolling smiley Also, of course, to meet someone else who thinks highly of Buchheim. Have you read Die Festung? I have a dream of translating it into English, but so far I've been too lazy to begin. It would take quite a long time since it's such a monster of a book. This summer, it's sixty years since the events Buchheim describes in Die Festung (hard to believe). What about his other books, have you read them?
