Hi annox,

I just got mine and the language choices are:

German 5.1 surround sound
German stereo
English 5.1 surround sound
English stereo

Subtitle choices:
English
French
No subtitles

I played mine in English with English subtitles and the difference between the dubbed English and the more accurate English subtitles is quite pronounced. In a number of cases the whole topic changes and there is some difference in most of the scenes.

I also have the full set of tapes but the DVD is so much nicer overall and and sounds so much better on my equipment I can recommend buying the DVD even if you have it on tape already. As Wolfgang Petersen says inside the cover "I hope you enjoy this work as it was originally intended to be seen".
