Das Boot naval advisors?

After viewing photos here on u-boat.net of Adm. Erich Topp and Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock discussing U-Boat scenes with Jurgen Prochnow and other cast members of Das Boot I was surprised and somewhat disappointed to see that they were not acknowledged in the credits (in my Superbit DVD of the Director's Cut). Instead, the "naval advisors" listed were Achim Krug and Carl Bohm.
I assume "Achim Krug" is Capt. Hans-Joachim Krug who wrote "Filming Das Boot: The Other side of WWII."
Who is/was Carl Bohm? What were his "credentials" as a naval advisor?
