I'd like to see a movie POV: ADVENTURE OF EXPLORATION in a war movie. PQ17 combat chaos back-drop. How deep can the sub go ? What can it find ? Especially, U Boats trying to reach the Pacific by exploring beneath the Arctic ice pack. There was untouched wealth in those submerged shallow water mountain ranges. Nautilus planned explosive ice pack opening in 1930. The Luftwaffe consistently demonstrated a severe cold weather operating capability in the field on the Eastern Front. I think it would make palatable realistic fiction. It could make for historical non-fiction if reports of U Boats in the Kara Sea diving under the ice pack in combat tactics can be confirmed.
