Dear Rodney,
I do hope we live in a democratic world where freedom of speech reigns supreme. Your view is as good as any of the rest, and there's also the old 'de gustibus' quotation. For me, the full version on DVD has the added pleasure that I can finally watch all of it in original German sound, while the rest of the family can follow the much-improved (on the director's cut) subtitles in English. As for the boredom, that is as close to reality as any film-maker could portray it, as the LI said, and he should know!
