Watched the show, and I was certainly glad that they had to make a "dangerous penetration dive" to see if there was any information that the US Navy could have used, and/or whether the USNavy had seen it. Good thing they found notes in English - otherwise it would still be a mystery!
Seems like a little bookwork would have answered the questions, as well as identified how it wound up where it was. I imagine there is a log somewhere of the ordanance expended by type and number.
