The incorrect pronunciation of "submariner" was used first by Walter Beyer QM1 while relating to the BOWFIN'S 9th war patrol.
Later on, the narrator says it incorrectly twice at the end of the flick.
They show a graphic of a MK 14 torpedo, but it has the warhead of a German G7a unit; the next graphic shows a "sharply pointed"
warhead. Must be from another planet........
The guy giving test depths for GATO & BALAO boats got it wrong.
Narrator mentions that water tanks are outside the pressure hull;
not so. One guy claims that the pressure hull is 16' wide and 174'
long. Not so.......
All torpedoes launched during the flick have exercise heads installed on them.
All torpedoes that are launched show a large air bubble leaving the tubes; no so........
During a depth charging sequence, a crewman secures a leaking "compartment air salvage" valve by turning the handwheel in the wrong direction.
One scene shows a 4"-50 caliber deck gun mounted forward, then
it shows a 5"-25 caliber deck gun firing at a sampan.
This flick is not as bad as some of John Chatterton's presentations
of "Deep Sea Detectives."
