Good morning everyone,
Just re reading some stuff on the Werner Drecschler affair. For the benefit of those who may not be familiar with the case, Dreschler was a member of the crew of U118 who following his internment as a POW in the US was persuaded to betray his comrades by procuring information from them and passing it on to his captors. He was recognised by other UBoat men at Camp Papago Park in Arizona in March 1944 and was beaten and hanged by them within hours of arrival at the camp.
In August 1945 7 Uboat men were executed in Fort Leavenworth for his murder(5 from U615, 1 from U119 and 1 from U352) It was the largest mass execution in America in the twentieth century. BTW They were hanged in a lift shaft.
I think there is the makings off a terrific movie there.
Any ideas ?

This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.
