A most interesting plot if it is faithfully based on the book. The original book did not include any scenes of WWII but let's not think that accuracy will affect a hollyowood movie.
In the book although the character "lives" up until the 1920's it doubtful that he would have seen action in WWI.
I did not care too much for the book. The plot was a bit hard for me to swallow. I have not seen the trailers for the movie. I hope it does not stynk.
