Hello Matthias,

I really don’t know; probably the sequel was installed in style of Das Boot to make it a bit more thrilling.

On the other hand, Hartenstein wasn’t sure he wouldn’t be attacked after all, so it would have made some sense to test-dive in case of a possible sudden attack.
