Hi there, On this picture of U-260, you can just about see a horizontal pipe running from the conning tower, under the 'upper' winter garden and just into the lower one. Any idea what it is, and if there's one of the other side? Thanks! J.

Thanks for your reply James. Yep, I looked at this site, at ubootwaffe.net and a few other places. I was lucky enough to find some picture of U-260 from different stages of the war. I've pretty much found out all I can find out ( I think, unless there are other pictures out there ) and I know as much as I can as to what configuration she had before she sank. Now I just need to hope my

Thanks for your reply! I've checked both here and on Wikipedia and both say U-260 was a VII C, not a /41. From what I can find online, it looks like some U Boats were converted with Schnorkels & different armament, and U-260 might have been one of them. I just haven't been able to confirm that it happened to U-260 specifically, though it definitely seemed to get a Schnorkel and t

Sorry to reply to my own message, but I think I've spotted something! I looked at the third picture of the U-260 on the website here ( ) which shows the 'square' Conning Tower and the 3 guns ( 2 AA guns on a higher platform and 1 bigger gun on a lower platform - but not on the deck itself ). Then I looked at the Revell Type VII C/41 model ( see page page of the Instructions

Hi there, My first post here, hopefully you can all help! My friend is a Scuba Diver and has dived the U-260 off the coast of Cork a few times. I'd like to build a model of it, and was looking at the Revell 1:144 Type VII C model ( ). That model gives a few options, mainly listed as 'Early' and Late'. From what I can see, the obvious differences involve a Net Cutter
