I see in this posting a list of East Coast city's and no dates. Does that mean that U-505 did not stop at these ports or no information is available. I live in the Baltimore area and it would be great to get info on this topic and even photo's if she did stop at the Baltimore port.......any info would be appreciated. THX

Please go to above link. It list typical provisions including drinking liquids (not specfic). I would say if beer was available some may have been carried and given to the crew under the officers direction. Most likly due to weight being a critical factor along with space requirements other drinking liquids such as apple juice and other items of this nature got provisioned rather than beer

From the Times Newspaper today 19/03/08. Valentin U-boat base for sale. Dank and dark, built by slave labourers, the vast concrete complex known as Valentin on the north German coast is not exactly a des res. Germany's notorious submarine factory is, however, up for sale to anyone interested in a building with 7m-thick walls, the largest surviving bunker from the Third Reich. The

I just finished watching this 1970 movie and was really enjoying it up until the point the U-Boat surfaced. BOOOOO what a let down. I have seen older movies that had correct erea boats. What were the producers/film makers thinking? Also was this based on something that really happened?

I have been following data on the discovery of these Japanse Submarines and was wondering if the Germans had anything to do with their development or better yet was any information being shared and did the Germans have any plans for simuliar submarines. The I 201 Fast attack sub was the fastest sub underwater in WWII? Is that correct? I have also heard it could stay underwater for up to 30-da

I cannot say factually but these engines were made to be overhauled not replaced. The pistons and bearings could all be repaired while the engine was inside the sub.

Several questions for our U-Boat Fans................................ 1. Any movies featuring Schnellboots? 2. Does anyone know the name of the movie (in color) with John Wayne as PT Boat Skipper in which his boat rams the pier? It is not the movie "They Were Expendable".

22. U1105
Good Day, Does anyone know of any good photo's of U-1105 the Black Panther. She was rubber coated to be stealthy. Well she must have been because I cannot find any photo's other than the ones of the US Navy Blowing her up after the war during torpedo testing. Thanks

Hi, Sounds like a great idea but from a business standpoint the cost of purchase and the required USCG requirements for safety, training and pilot/crew training and license not to mention insurance would be so high you probably would not make any money or recover your costs.
