I don’t believe the C/30 was ever in the twin mounting. The first twin mount was the MG 151 ordered by the OKM in 1942. This gun was unsatisfactory and later removed. I believe the C/38 replace the MG 151 and I believe the C/38 was only found in the twin mounted M 43U.

I believe you can not purchase a full set of shipyard drawing, a full set would be about 10,000 drawings. There are only a very few original Germany drawings around. Your best option is to buy a set of “Planmappe: Uboottyp VII C”. These are copes of about 10 original Germany drawings but there are a number of mistake on them. Update 2: Once again with some fantastic research from Maciek, he was able to discover more U-boats that were modify for underwater refuelling. In addition Maciek looked at the Type IX’s and discovers several boats that were modify for underwater refuelling. UPDATE: Maciek recently found a photo taken at the same time and it read “U-995, U-313, U-315”. Is can not be 100% correct as U-313 surrendered at Narvik. I think it’s a typo and should read U-310. With this new information it suggests the boats are (Port to Starboard) U-995, U-310 & U-315.

I am not sure about the Type IX but on the Type VIIC the pressure hull is between 16 mm and 18.5 mm. Its 16 mm at both the bow and stern casting and 18.5 mm around the CT. Unsure if all the steel on the Type VIIC/41 is the same 21 mm.
