Hello, we are the developers of the U-boat game Wolfpack. We toured your sub in 2016. We have some questions we hope you can help us with so we can be as authentic as possible. How did the U-995 and Type VII boat go backwards? I mean, when the CR ordered half speed astern, what happened in the engine room? Did WWII German U-boats (Type VII) have a reverse gear they could switch to when

His log mentions destroyers, what kind would they have been? What other patrol craft were typical in 1939-1943 Scapa Flow? And, would it have been possible the British would have used observation balloon ? thanks!

Hey guys, We are working on a new game, Wolfpack, and we are trying to include as much realistic detail as possible. One thing has us stumped: after our visit to U-995, we are trying to understand what the markings are on the Pappenburg gauge, and why there are two of these gauges. Is one for the each scope? What do the marks mean? thanks! Big images, easy to see the detail

I'm trying to determine how U-boats used the radio, specifically, did each boat have its own assigned frequency? I am guessing not, but I cannot find any data to back that up. I know U-boats can send transmissions to BdU and receive them, but could U-boats send messages to each other? Again, my prediction is yes, why wouldn't they? Was there a protocol to contacting another U-boat?

Hello! I read somewhere that the Metox indicated a signal by a buzzing sound...is that correct? Did it grow louder as the signal strength increased?
