I agree some things looked a bit silly. From parts of it you got the impression they were fighting kamikazes and not u-boats. Still, it's a submarine movie with a decent budget and normally good actors so I'll probably go see it. And some shots looked better, like the u-boats lurking just beneath the surface and following the convoy. Anyone else with impressions? Here's a lin

Been reading about the u-boat war lately and came across the info that Germany settled on a large number of medium sized boats rather than fewer bigger ones as a result of what Dönitz perceived as flaws in the WWI strategy. I assume this means he wasn't a fan of the big u-cruisers of WWI, but I can't find much more info or any books about German navy doctrine development between the war
