Hello Phil, er al: In the U.S. the engineers at the torpedo research facility in Newport, RI were building the Mark 16 (for submarines) torpedo and the Mark 17 (for destroyers) torpedo using NAVOL (70% hydrogen peroxide). Hello Bezukhov: I don't know about German torpedoes being launched without compressed air, but the U.S.Navy launched Mark 27 passive acoustic torpedoes without using compressed air in the last months of WWII in the Pacific. All Mark 27s were "swim-out" weapons. Later, ROBERT M.
