Hi everybody ... I'm a newbie here! My research into F/Lt Desmond Victor Varian, a 500 Squadron RAF Hudson pilot, whose aircraft disappeared over the Med on the same day (12th December 1942) as another Hudson from the same squadron piloted by P/O John Pugh. John Pugh's aircraft was shot down by U-73 (an event that can be read on this site), and the serial number is given as AM689
