151. U-1107
Hello All
I have an acquaintance who lives in Wilhelmshaven and is friendly with the younger brother of Julius Von Bonin who was an officer on U-1107.
It has made me curious as to whether there has been any update to the following:-
"Sunk 30 April, 1945 in the Bay of Biscay west of Brest, in position 48.00N, 06.30W, by retro bombs from an American Catalina aircraft (VP-63/R). 37 dead,

Interesting film of U-20 on patrol. Film is dated as 1942 but I think 1940?
Shows sinking of small freighter which "could" be Norwegian "Faro" sunk on the 27th Jan 1940.If possible would like to receive comments as to date and name of freighter. First part of clip shows Japanese war-ship but about 1 minute in for U-20 showing "Wappen"

160. Re: RHV
Dan!
What a great reply! Very complicated, it's a wonder that that we ever deciphered anything, after the posting,I scrolled through some of the decoded messages at
and picked up several more references to Venus and it slowly dawned on me as to what it was.
Very many thanks and regards

161. RHV
Hello All
On June 26th 1944, U 953 sent a message to BDU :- "Send everything by RHV. VENUS is out of order"
Have done a search in articles and technologies with no result.
Is it to do with radio frequencies or codes
A point in the right direction would be appreciated

The date for sailing that I got from biography of Zig-Zag is 15th March 1943 which is different from the convoy web-site which has it as March 6th! Which is correct? Am trying to tie this in with the post regarding S.S.Cressado. Zig-Zag was an important agent and am wondering if BDU sent out a message similar to the one regarding Cressado.I'm sure someone will enlighten me.

This ship sailed from Liverpool bound for Lisbon on 15th March 1943
On board was double agent Zig-Zag
Was this ship part of a convoy?

Thanks for info John. Very strange incident, may be something to do with Portugal being neutral and that the ship was carrying something or someone important but I haven't got a clue really!

170. Steamer Cressado?
Hi all
On the 4th Feb 1941, Bdu sent out a message that if the Steamer Cressado (departing Liverpool to Lisbon)is positively identified it should NOT be stopped.
Anyone have any info regarding this message and the reason behind it?
Thanks
Nobby
