book is in Russian language

Descripton: Submarine warfare in the Baltic theatre during WWII from another point of view. Begins with the very short preface: "Death and prejudices - very Russian themes". The book is based mainly on oral histories of Baltic fleet combatants compared with both official battle reports and some post-Perestroika archive investigations. Podplav is a common naval nickname for any submariner from Sailor to Admiral. The abbreviation comes from podvodnoe plavanie (sub marine sailing).
