Hi Will,
Let me clarify for all here: I have not built a scale model for the last 40 years or so.
Meanwhile career, marriage, sailing etc took my time, though I never lost my attraction to the artistry of a finely detailed model. I am now helping to market a model line instead.
That said, the tooling (i.e. molds) of the 7\'s and 9\'s hull, some decks, towers etc. is largely finished already. Many of you know the amount of work hours going into that process. They want to be amortized.
My personal opinion - the scale difference between 1:40 and 1:32 is not significant enough to make a material impact on the degree of detailing acchievable. Also Will, US North America, being the last worldwide holdout from metric adoption, is not going to be successful in reconverting everyone else to inches and feet. Now, if we start talking about a type 9 in 1:10 - we might have something to finance. Perhaps by selling tickets for a ride aboard. :-)) Rgds, RB
