See useful links above. My comment to Robbe/U47:
A popular model - primarily for two reasons. Reasonable price and the drudgery of drilling out the flood slots in the deck etc has been taken care of by the manufacturer. For production reasons fidelity to scale and original detail is suffering somewhat. But if you spend some time into detailing from scratch, you can get a rather nice model from it. It is a dynamic diver, but many RC builders end up putting tanks into it. Other models of types VII are more costly, but one has to be blind not being able to immediately recognize the quality difference.
