Hi,
If the Heller model is the 1/400 scale kit, I think you will ruin the hull if you try to
drill out the holes. They\'re too small. You might try to drill them on a separate
thin plastic sheet and if you could do that, simply cut out from the kit and change
it to the new one. Than fill the gaps. That protect you from destroying your model.
The deck gun can be easely improved using spreaded sprue. There are some
drawings in Westwoods\'s \"Anatomy of the Ship Type VII\" book. The spreaded sprue is
also a good material to make the railings.

P.s.: The flooding slots looks quite qood simply drybrushed black on this model.
