Hello,
I\'m looking for any information that could be helpful in identyfying
the U-boat from outside (excluding the individual badges).
What I\'m particularly interested in is how can a diver identify a boat
without getting inside?
- Did German shipyards place any Bureau NOs somewhere on the tower
or elsewhere?
- Or maybe some data plates?
I don\'t think that there was a boat\'s number placed somewhere,
but I hope that possibly the shipyard\'s name can be found.
One more thing - did all the boats have their rescue buoys (or sth)
removed during the war - or maybe those operating in the Baltic Sea
training waters had them intact?
I hope that you guys who are into models, schemes, etc. can help me in this matter.
I\'d be very grateful for your replies. Thanx!
