Dear Axel Sahner,
No 269 Squadron RAF Old Comrades Association is holding its 85th and last Annual Reunion Dinner at the beginning of September and we are very keen to invite one of Rahmlow's children to be our guest. This is the squadron that captured his Uboat.
I have just come acxross your email of July 12, 2004 and wonder if you could put me in touch with Rahmlow's family. We have never considered that he was guilty of cowardice and would like his next-of-kin to be aware of our view.
I would also welcome your advice concerning the practicality of such an invitation. Does either speak at least a little English? Are they interested in reawakening memories of the incident? Do they have any present day connections with the German Navy? Would they welcome being asked to join us?
I hope you will excuse this invasion of your privacy.
