Hello everyone,
I promised myself not to post another question until I read the entire Tech/Ops Forum from start to finish. It has taken me two months and I have taken 32 pages of notes. I found answers to 95% of the questions I had in my head: maintaining trim, small arms, food, toilet usage, Kalipatronen vs. Draeger Tauchretter, and all the others topics that appear repeatedly. My reading agenda for the near future include:
• “Steel Boat, Iron Hearts” by Hans Goebeler and John Vanzo
• "With Honour in Battle" by J.T. McDaniel
• "Operation Drumbeat" by Michael Gannon
• “U-859” by Arthur Baudzus
I hope to answer the remaining questions I have after enjoying these books.

However, I need assistance in clarifiying something that's bugging me even after reading:

I saw a black and white picture of the “dipole radar” on the 505; I take it that must be Wanze’s Runddipol. Elsewhere I read the 505 had the Hohentweil. My question: why both? Why was this Wanze dipole antenna still on the 505 after November 5, 1943?
