Hi, read your email this morning re your great grandfather and HMS Ibis. My grandfather, Percy Earl was the radio operator aboard HMS Ibis at the time of the attack and went down with the ship. Apparently torpedoed by Italian aircraft. According to the survivors, one aircraft came in first from the port side by way of a distraction, another then came in from starboard and dropped the torpedoes. A few years ago my father put a note in Dispatches and had several survivors contact him. He organised a meeting for them all which he attended. One of the survivors was a certain Rikki Fulton, if you don't know, Rikki Fulton later became a famous Scottish comedian, famous for his drunken minister- Rev.I.M.Jolly. He was 19 at the time of the attack.
