May I point out that the correct spelling is HMS Prince of Wales, without the 'h'. ie The Prince of the country of Wales and not the mammals.
I do not wish to denigrate any one as this is a common error, particularly for those writers who are not familiar with the oddities of the English language.
To add further to the confusion we have in the British army the Welsh Regiment often refered to as the Welch Regt.</HTML>
