My father-in-law, Harry George Balsdon, served on HMS Hythe.
Hythe saw service in the Mediterranean, based in Malta. She saw duty with the Malta convoys. She was torpedoed 11 Oct 1943 off Bougie, Algeria by U-371 commanded by Waldemar Mehl.
