Kathi,

Unfortunately the two best sites (besides uboat.net of course)I have run across over the years for this kind of information are both lacking as far as YMS-22 is concerned.

The first site is here:

Note that the crew complement was normally smaller than 44.

There are links as you scroll down for possible crew contact associations.

The second site is here:

[www.ibiblio.org]

The YMS types are all the way at the bottom, and again little info is available on the YMS-22. You can click on one of the active links to see a picture of what the class looked like.

Another possible option would be to contact the National Archives (http://www.archives.gov/index.html)to see if they had any information on her loss. Unfortunately, even if they have the info it will probably take several weeks for a response.
