U.S.S. Chester, October 20, 1942

I am trying to find my Great Uncle, Wilbur Fisk, listed as dying on the U.S.S. Chester on October 20, 1942 in the Solomon Islands. I have been researching, but cannot find this in any of the naval records and I am positive that he perished in that battle. The only information I can find is the number of deaths.

Any ideas?
