Hello,
I am having an argument about the effectiveness of Motor Torpedo Boats in WWII and how well they were in anti-submarine warfare.
I would like to know these things:
1. Did they have any method to know where to drop their depth charges besides guessing? (Did they have ASDIC or any sonar? Did they have even radar?) I read that PT boats in US tested sonar but the motor was too loud
2. How many submarines were sunk by Motor Torpedo Boats in WW2? So far I find I-3 Japanese submarine sunk by a torpedo, and U-561 sunk by a torpedo. But havnt found any sunk by a motor boat depth charge yet.
3. basically... just tell me anything you know
