Very interesting. This fills a gap as no report of proceeding exist in the french records for neither "Arc" nor "Baliste", the two destroyers involved in the recovery of "Amiral Magon"'s survivors. I've just located a 144 page booklet written by Walter Forstmann "El U 39 en el Mediterraneo" published in Barcelona in 1918, while he was interned in Spain. Do you know this book ? It might contain the U boot commander point of view...
