Thanks mate,

Yes I found that the ship was built with one funnel but during 1912/13 the ship was rebuilt with it being lenghten and a second funnel fitted.

So it appears the photos my friend has may be a before and after photo of the same ship.

Thanks for the extra detail on the other ship as the HMAT is the one I was after.
