Hi Simon,
Many thanks for your quick response. I had just had a quick skim through all the Kapitänleutnante in 'Ehrenranglist der Kaiserliche Deutschen Marine' (about 112 pages) but missed him. I was looking for 'Bernhard' as mentioned by Herzog in 60 JAHRE DEUTSCHEN UBOOTE 1906-1966. I did find him under the correct spelling!
I take it that the spellings of his middle two Christian names are in the German way Georg and Frederick.
