Well, Lighter L.1 was towed by tug JULIA A. MORAN and on voyage Alexandria - Saloniki with benzole, escorted by HMT IJUIN.

After an gun-duell HMT IJUIN (which fired 32 shots) gave up, S/tg JULIA A. MORAN (which fired 3 shots) escaped.

IJUIN was finished off with explosives at 32.35N-28.37 E and L.1 was likewise sunk at 32.37N-28.39 E. An separate list of cargos of vessels sunk in the mediterranean at the german Archives (RM 8/456) says L.1 had 700 g.r.t. and carried 1000 tons of benzole but that seems to be estimated.

TNA-file ADM 137/3582 gives full details to the action, but no tonnage.

I have L.1 as being of 130 g.r.t., but that's because I'm thinking she was an ex X-lighter...
