CHATHAM: Yes, she could very easily have hit a U-boat laid mine. Would need the exact position to be sure — unfortunately, I've never common across that either.

Pantellaria/Ponte Maria -- OK, could see it being a Q-ship. The ex-motor schooner Cuore di Gesu part is where it gets confusing. The 1912/13 and 1916/17 editions of Lloyd's Register of Shipping (I don't have access to the years in between) list two Cuore di Gesus:

191grt, brigantine, built in 1903
130 grt three masted schooner fitted with an auxiliary motor that was built in 1909.

Only the 130 grt one is still listed in the 1919/20 edition. So if the larger one became a Q-ship and was sunk by U 4, Conways got a few of the details wrong. Another possibility is that a differnt vessel was converted into a Q-ship.
