Joe,

The description Denis gives is pretty much what's in Spindler, including the esimated tonnage and name on the side of the vessel. I do have U 54's KTB and I'll scan it in when I'm next at the library, but the key document(s) we really need to look at to get to the bottom of this are British, not German.
