Hi Don, Warship Profile number 8, 1971, is only about U107, there are still some issues about. As for interesting details, she was the U-boat with the record number of sinkings in a singles patrol [14]. In her last patrol, she was transferring new snorkels to La Pallice, by chance her commander Volker Simmermacher, as with most of her crew were away on leave when this order was issued, so she sailed with Fritz who apart from a single posting as 1st Watch Officer on U103 had no command experience, and a scratch crew, which would not have helped her survival chances.
